Chick-fil-A has launched its first “elevated drive-thru” restaurant in McDonough, Georgia, designed to enhance customer service and speed. This new location features four drive-thru lanes and operates without a dine-in option. The restaurant’s kitchen is located on the second floor, and food is transported to employees below via a conveyor belt.
The kitchen at this new restaurant is double the size of a standard Chick-fil-A kitchen. According to the company, the elevated design allows the restaurant to serve two to three times the number of vehicles compared to a traditional Chick-fil-A drive-thru, which typically has only two lanes.
Customers will have two options for placing orders: they can order ahead using the Chick-fil-A app and pick up their meals from dedicated Mobile Thru lanes or place orders with team members in the traditional drive-thru lanes. The conveyor belt system enables meals to be delivered to team members every six seconds.
Jonathan Reed, Executive Director of Design for Chick-fil-A, stated, “Our guests lead busy lives, and we’re focused on designing our restaurants to best serve their needs. With the new Elevated Drive-Thru design, featuring our first four-lane drive-thru, we’re aiming to deliver quality food and genuine hospitality in a way that’s uniquely Chick-fil-A, giving our guests time back in their day.”
This new restaurant concept follows the opening of Chick-fil-A’s first mobile pickup restaurant in New York City earlier this year. The McDonough location is part of the company’s efforts to adapt to changing consumer preferences and enhance the drive-thru experience.
Chick-fil-A’s elevated drive-thru will be open from 6 AM to 10 PM, Monday through Saturday, and is expected to streamline service for customers seeking quick and convenient meal options.
