Hundreds of ‘Golden Ticket’ holders gathered at Wendy’s in Steinbach on Thursday, hoping to win a shed filled with prizes from Premier Building.
Gregg Penner emerged as the final contestant standing and claimed the grand prize.
Penner shared that his 8-year-old son inspired him to participate in the contest. “Every morning on the way to daycare, he’s like, ‘Dad, call in, call in!’ And we win the shed, and he’s not even here,” he said.
Although his son could not attend the grand finale, Penner expressed excitement about sharing the winnings with him.
“He’s gonna love it because he wants his own playhouse, and he can have this,” Penner added.
Over the past few months, readers of SteinbachOnline and listeners of AM1250, MIX 96.7FM, and COUNTRY 107.7FM have been eager to obtain a Golden Ticket. They participated by calling and texting during morning shows, entering online, and spinning the wheel at various locations in the Southeast.
Only 250 Golden Tickets were printed, with the last ones distributed on Thursday, just one hour before the shed giveaway.
