Taco Bell Brings Back Discontinued Classics on August 15.

Taco Bell is turning back the clock by reintroducing some of its most beloved discontinued menu items. On Thursday, August 15, the fast-food chain will launch its “Nostalgic Menu,” featuring a selection of fan-favorite items from the 1960s through the 2000s, according to a report by Men’s Journal.

This retro-inspired menu offers a unique opportunity for both longtime customers and new fans to enjoy some of Taco Bell’s classic dishes. The menu highlights one popular item from each decade, starting from the restaurant’s early days in the 1960s.

A Blast From The Past: What’s on The Nostalgic Menu?

The Nostalgic Menu brings back five items that were once staples on Taco Bell’s menu:

The Tostada from the 1960s: This classic dish was one of the original items when Taco Bell first opened. It features a crispy corn shell filled with refried beans, red sauce, fresh lettuce, and shredded cheese. Although prices have risen since the 1960s, this item remains affordable at $2.19.

The Green Burrito from the 1970s: Popular in the ’70s, this burrito combines refried beans, onions, shredded cheese, and green chili sauce for a tangy, spicy flavor. It’s priced at $2.49.

The Meximelt from the 1980s: The Meximelt is a soft tortilla loaded with pico de gallo, shredded cheese, and seasoned ground beef. This cheesy, savory melt is available for $2.99.

The Beef Gordita Supreme from the 1990s: This item includes soft flatbread filled with ground beef, sour cream, lettuce, shredded cheese, and diced tomatoes, offering a taste of the ’90s for $2.99.

The Caramel Apple Empanada from the 2000s: As the menu’s dessert option, this warm empanada is filled with sweet apple and caramel, priced at $2.99.

The Nostalgic Menu will be available at select Taco Bell locations in California starting August 15, but only while supplies last.

“We have a rich history filled with craveable products that our fans love, and we are always exploring ways to bring back those that offer the comfort and value people seek,” said Taylor Montgomery, Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, in a press release. “We’re excited to give both longtime fans and new customers the chance to enjoy these classic items once again.”

Taco Bell’s Stanley Cup And Baja Blast Celebration

In addition to the Nostalgic Menu, Taco Bell recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of Mountain Dew Baja Blast, a fan-favorite drink, by releasing a limited-edition Taco Bell-themed Stanley cup.

On Tuesday, August 13, the special tumbler was available to the first 100 customers who redeemed a promotional offer through the Taco Bell app. However, the limited stock quickly sold out, leaving some fans disappointed.

“NOT ONLY was the drop like a few seconds late to air, but then BOOM, 404 error. Like seriously? and then after that, I refresh the page and suddenly it says 100 rewards members already claimed it? What a joke,” one Reddit user complained.

Another fan expressed frustration, saying, “I’d like to see someone who actually got a cup.”

Despite the quick sellout of the Stanley cup, fans can still look forward to celebrating the “Bajaversary” with the upcoming Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato, which will be available at Taco Bell locations nationwide starting September 3.
