Employees at the Jack in the Box in Hilo received a rare and exciting visit last month from none other than Jack Box, the iconic mascot and spokesperson of the fast-food chain. This visit was a recognition of the restaurant’s outstanding performance in a national sales contest for the new Smashed Jack burger.
The Hilo location distinguished itself by placing in the top three out of more than 2,200 stores nationwide. Glenn Dela Cruz, director of marketing for Jack in the Box Hawai‘i, praised the team’s achievement, stating, “This milestone shows the passion and dedication of our Hilo team. Our focus on quality and providing guest service with aloha has truly paid off, and we are excited to continue bringing our Hawai‘i customers the best convenient dining experience possible.”
Nick Domingo, director of operations for Jack in the Box Hawai‘i, echoed these sentiments, adding, “Having Jack Box visit our Hilo store is a testament to the extraordinary efforts of our employees.”
The success of Jack in the Box Hawai‘i was not limited to the Hilo store. Four of the company’s locations placed in the top 10 overall, highlighting the commitment and hard work of teams across the Pacific region. Alongside the Hilo store, the Kona location on the Big Island’s west side, the Moanalua store on O‘ahu, and the Guam location also earned top honors.
“We are incredibly proud of our team and all our Hawai‘i locations for their remarkable achievement,” Domingo said. “This recognition reflects our commitment to delivering excellent service and delicious food to our valued customers.”
The Smashed Jack burger, featuring savory smashed-style patties, is one of the latest offerings from the national chain and has quickly become a customer favorite.
