Chick-fil-A customers are anxious about the potential replacement of the iconic waffle fries with traditional french fries, which have been a beloved part of the menu for years. While Chick-fil-A is famous for its chicken, it has never offered regular french fries on its menu—until now.
After years of exclusively offering waffle fries, Chick-fil-A is now experimenting with regular fries. The company’s test kitchen, Little Blue Menu in College Park, Maryland, announced last Friday that they are testing the traditional cut version of the popular dish.
Although Chick-fil-A is trying out regular fries, they have not been added as a permanent menu item nor made available nationwide. Those interested in tasting the new offering can do so at the Maryland test kitchen or order through the company’s app. “It’s FRYday, FRYday! Gotta get delivery on Friday! Make any day a little better with Little Blue Order through the Chick-Fil-A® App today. *Now delivering to most areas in College Park, MD. Menu prices for delivery are higher than at the restaurant. Additional fees apply; see applicable charges at checkout,” Little Blue Menu stated in a promotional video shared on Instagram.
Following the announcement, fans quickly shared their reactions. Many Chick-fil-A customers expressed concern about the future of the waffle fries. One fan commented on Instagram, “Please don’t tell me this is replacing the waffle fries.” Another added, “Everyone is having a meltdown on TikTok because they think you’re getting rid of our waffle fries, probably due to this post LOL. You’re not? Right?”
Despite the worries, some customers are excited about the new fries. One user expressed enthusiasm, calling the regular french fries a “need.”
The introduction of regular fries has sparked a lively debate among Chick-fil-A enthusiasts, highlighting the strong attachment fans have to the restaurant’s classic offerings.
