Carrollton is edging closer to welcoming a third Chick-fil-A location. On Monday, July 8, the Carrollton City Council unanimously approved a rezoning request for 1302 US Highway 27 (North Park Street). This site is situated between Carrollton Church of Christ and Mike Bell Chevrolet, near the intersection with Georgia Highway 113. The rezoning changes the property from C-2 (General Commercial) to Planned Development (PD). This change permits parking in front of the building and reduces the landscape buffer along the front property line from ten feet to four feet, aiming to improve drive-thru traffic flow.
Initial project plans, reported last month, include a restaurant building with a double drive-thru, 100 interior seats, 16 exterior seats, and 56 parking spaces. The building will be oriented lengthwise along the highway.
A representative for the developer stated that the next step involves submitting final plans to the city for permits. These will be drawn up once Chick-fil-A gives the final go-ahead for construction. The project timeline remains undetermined.
