Popeyes has announced the opening date for its inaugural restaurant in Gloucestershire, marking a significant expansion for the Louisiana chicken brand in the UK. Scheduled to open this summer at St Oswalds Retail Park, the new location will cater to Gloucester food enthusiasts eager to savor Popeyes’ renowned Louisiana chicken, complete with Cajun gravy and fries.
This establishment at St Oswalds Retail Park will be the first Popeyes venue in Gloucestershire, part of the brand’s broader strategy to grow its presence in the UK. Currently, the closest Popeyes restaurants are situated in Oxford, Cardiff, and Birmingham.
Known for its freshly marinated chicken available in classic and spicy varieties, Popeyes also plans to offer breakfast items, fast-food favorites, and shakes, including their latest offerings like the Big Brekkie Wrap and Buffalo Ranch Sandwich.
Restaurant Brands International (RBI), which also owns Burger King” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>Burger King and Tim Hortons, oversees Popeyes’ operations in the UK. Since its UK debut in 2021, Popeyes has rapidly expanded to over 38 locations nationwide, with ambitions to increase that number to over 60 by the end of 2024.
