Madison, Ala. — Chick-fil-A has broken ground on its second location in Madison, responding to long-standing community demand for more chicken options. Owner Norman Dull expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, citing strong support from the local community.
“We’re super excited about being able to expand in Madison,” Dull remarked. “We have been so well supported by the community here and we love to be able to give back to the community.”
The new restaurant will be strategically located near Exit 9 on I-565, a short distance from Town Madison. Dull emphasized that the new location will complement the area’s rapid growth and attraction.
“The city of Madison has needed a second Chick-fil-A for a long time. We feel like this is going to be a great spot to capture the growth at Town Madison as well as the growth that comes from 565 into the city.”
This marks Dull’s second Chick-fil-A groundbreaking in Madison, having brought the first location to the area 25 years ago on US Highway 72. Reflecting on his longstanding affiliation with Chick-fil-A, Dull shared, “I’m a lifer. Chick-fil-A has been in my blood for a long time. I started as a high school student with Chick-fil-A. I’ve been with Chick-fil-A for 40 years now, 30 of those as an owner or operator. It means the world to me.”
For the Dull family, Chick-fil-A is not just a business but a tradition. Norman’s son, Matthiew, serves as the Hospitality Director at the restaurant and has also grown up with the company.
“I started when I was 15. It has been my only job and it has been the best job I’ve ever had. I love working with family. I love being able to work for a company that cares so much and to be able to see how they take care of my father, have taken care of our family, have taken care of everybody and it has made me so excited to work for this company and eventually start my own family.”
Weather permitting, the new Chick-fil-A location is expected to begin serving customers in December.
