PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — According to a recent study by Richfield Research, Chick-fil-A has been officially crowned the top choice for chicken sandwiches in Illinois, confirming the state’s preference for the renowned fast-food chain.
The study reveals that Illinois is not alone in its admiration for Chick-fil-A; it holds the title of favorite chicken sandwich provider in 30 other states across the country. Following closely behind, Popeyes and Wendy’s secured second and third place, respectively.
Despite Illinoisians’ fondness for chicken sandwiches, the state does not rank among the top five in consumption. Florida, Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia lead the pack in this regard.
On a national scale, approximately 14% of Americans indulge in a chicken sandwich at least once a week.
Key findings from the study include:
Chick-fil-A emerges as the preferred fast-food chicken sandwich choice in Illinois and 30 other states.
Popeyes captures 21% of the vote, securing second place, while Wendy’s follows with 8% in third place.
Florida leads all states with over 40% of residents consuming fast-food chicken sandwiches weekly.
Nationally, 43% of Americans admit to enjoying a fast-food chicken sandwich on a monthly basis.
