In a bold move aimed at rival McDonald’s, Wendy’s has launched a new promotion adding a complimentary Frosty to its $5 Biggie Bag deal. This offer marks the fifth anniversary of the Biggie Bag and appears to directly challenge McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal, which debuted earlier this month.
Starting June 20, Wendy’s patrons can enjoy a free small Frosty with their purchase of the $5 Biggie Bag through the Wendy’s app at participating locations nationwide. The $5 Biggie Bag, a staple since 2019, includes a choice between a Jr Bacon Cheeseburger or Crispy Chicken Sandwich, along with a 4-piece nugget, Jr. fries, and a small drink.
“Wendy’s is celebrating the start of summer and the fifth anniversary of the Biggie Bag with an unbeatable deal! Go BIGGIE-ER,” exclaimed Wendy’s in a press statement. Customers can redeem this app-exclusive offer through mobile orders or by scanning the promo code in-store, as reported by TODAY.
In contrast, McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal features options like a McChicken or McDouble, complemented by a four-piece chicken nuggets, fries, and a beverage. Earlier in June, Wendy’s also introduced a new limited-edition Triple Berry Frosty flavor, blending strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry flavors for a refreshing summer treat.
