The quest for Arby’s in Hollywood Has Hit A Snag Since Its Closure

by Nick

The quest for Arby’s in Hollywood has hit a snag since its closure. Growing up nearby, I often saw the iconic Arby’s hat on.

Sunset Boulevard but never ventured in. However, conversations with my friend Jo Stougaard, who worked at an Arby’s in West Covina, sparked my interest. Sadly, the Sunset Boulevard location closed recently after 55 years, citing rising costs.

Stougaard recalls her time at Arby’s fondly, reminiscing about the classic beef and cheddar sandwiches on onion rolls and the famous horsey sauce. The closure of the Hollywood branch dashed our plans for an Arby’s outing.

Determined to experience Arby’s, I sought out the closest branch, which led me to Huntington Beach. The nostalgic vibe of the wagon-style building with its neon hat sign drew me in. The classic beef and cheddar sandwich, paired with horsey sauce as recommended by Stougaard, was a delightful experience. The curly fries and Jamocha shake added to the charm, although the coffee flavor in the shake was subtle.

While I may not have explored Arby’s earlier, this visit was a pleasant surprise. The combination of flavors and the nostalgic ambiance made it a worthwhile experience. If I ever crave curly fries, horseradish sauce, and a chocolatey coffee shake, I know where to go.
