Several prominent companies in the Philippines, including Maxicare, Jollibee Foods Corporation, and the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), have experienced data breaches, exposing customer records.

Maxicare confirmed a data breach on June 19, affecting personal information of 13,000 members, a small fraction of its total membership.

The breached records pertain to users of Lab@Home, a third-party home-care provider booking platform. Maxicare clarified that while booking details were compromised, no sensitive medical information was exposed, as Lab@Home maintains a separate database not integrated with Maxicare’s system.

Jollibee Foods Corporation was also reportedly impacted, with a potential breach exposing personal data of 32 million customers and extensive records related to food delivery operations, including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and hashed passwords.
