Tim Hortons‘ annual Smile Cookie campaign in Strathmore has successfully raised $20,232.57 this year for Strathmore FCSS.
Franchise owner Kevin Korpi of Edgefield and Pine Road Tim Hortons in Strathmore elaborated on the campaign, stating, “For a week in May, we decorate chocolate chunk cookies with a smile and sell them for $1.50. The entire proceeds of $1.50 go to a local charity or organization.” Strathmore FCSS has been a longstanding partner with Strathmore Tim Hortons, contributing significantly to their fundraising efforts.
Korpi proudly shared, “In eight years, we have raised $116,783 for the program.”
The involvement of everyone at Korpi’s location in the fundraiser has been notable. “It feels rewarding for all of us to give back to the community. What’s remarkable is the support from the people of Strathmore. They understand that the funds remain local, addressing essential needs here,” Korpi emphasized.
Reflecting on the widespread support for the Smile Cookie program in Strathmore, Korpi mentioned, “The program nationally raised $18.8 million in Canada, which is impressive. Although it averages to less than $0.50 per person nationwide, our contributions here in Strathmore triple the national average, a testament to our community’s generosity.”
The upcoming Smile Cookie campaign is scheduled for November, featuring holiday-themed cookies.
