ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A new Chick-fil-A is coming to Albany. The company confirmed that construction has started on this new location.
“We’re pleased to announce that construction for Chick-fil-A at Central Avenue and Colvin Avenue is underway,” said a Chick-fil-A spokesperson. “This locally owned and operated restaurant is expected to open in late 2024, unless there are delays.”
The new restaurant will be at 944 Central Avenue, the former site of Armory Garage. Chick-fil-A’s plans were presented to the Albany Planning Board in the fall of 2023.
According to these plans, the Chick-fil-A building will be about 5,200 square feet. It will have two drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio with seating. There will be around 98 parking spaces, and the construction cost is estimated at $750,000.
The restaurant will employ about 125 to 150 people. It will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, following the company’s tradition of closing on Sundays.
In the Capital Region, Chick-fil-A has locations in Clifton Park, North Greenbush, and the Albany International Airport.
Another location was proposed for Latham in 2021, but it hasn’t progressed.
“We’re excited to join the Albany community soon and serve our guests delicious food with genuine hospitality,” said the spokesperson.
