A popular restaurant chain, Chick-fil-A, is considering adding another location in Escambia County. The proposed site for this new Chick-fil-A is between Bubba’s 33 and the upcoming Jim N’ Nicks BBQ restaurant on North Davis Highway in Pensacola.
Unlike most Chick-fil-A restaurants, this new location is planned to have no indoor seating. Instead, it will focus on drive-thru service with 24 outdoor seats and dual lanes, accommodating up to 22 cars at a time, peaking at 34 cars.
The project includes 38 parking spots to accommodate its staff needs. The proposal was submitted to Escambia County on June 5, and the developers have requested a meeting with the county’s Development Review Committee to proceed with the project.
Here are the key details about the proposed Chick-fil-A project:
Location: The new Chick-fil-A will be situated in a bustling commercial area between Bubba’s 33 and the upcoming Jim N’ Nicks BBQ restaurant in University Town Plaza. Other nearby businesses include Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Jimmy John’s, and Texas Roadhouse.
Area Development: Recent developments in the area, such as the opening of a Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel and the construction of a Tru by Hilton hotel nearby, could potentially increase foot traffic for businesses in the vicinity.
Project Details: The proposed Chick-fil-A will occupy a 1.52-acre lot and feature a 2,761 square-foot building with dual drive-thru lanes, 38 parking spots, and 24 outdoor seats.
Access and Design: Access to the Chick-fil-A will be through University Town Plaza as there are no access roads planned directly from North Davis Highway. Additionally, once you enter the drive-thru lanes, exiting will not be possible, emphasizing the need to finalize your order before entering.
The development of this new Chick-fil-A location reflects the ongoing growth and commercial activity in uptown Pensacola, providing additional dining options and convenience for residents and visitors alike.
