The fan experience at Tim Hortons Field is set to improve significantly.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have announced that their new social space, called The Stipley Pre-Game Party, will be ready just in time for the team’s home opener on June 16 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The 18,000 sq. ft. area will be open to all fans for free.
One of the first features fans will notice is the 20-foot Ticats and Forge FC-branded hammers, a tribute to the city’s nickname, “The Hammer.”
Between these hammers, an iconic steam whistle will be elevated 25 feet in the air, continuing the traditional touchdown celebration in Hamilton. Below this, fans can enjoy 10 new food and beverage kiosks along the south wall of the stadium.
Fans who arrive early will benefit from special incentives. For one hour after the gates open, they can purchase $5 beers and $6 Cottage Springs drinks.
Additionally, fans can buy Tiger-Cats merchandise at two retail booths on the west side of the space.
The new area will also feature a permanent stage for live performances, both before the game and during halftime at every Ticats home game.
The Ticats’ home opener kicks off at 7 p.m. on June 16.
