Wendy’s® officially launched its second restaurant in Romania on April 24th at Mega Mall Bucharest. The opening was celebrated with a lively event that paid tribute to Romanian culture, marking an exciting milestone for the brand in the country.
With this new location, Wendy’s continues to introduce its popular menu items—fresh square hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and the iconic Frosty®—to Romanian customers. The brand’s expansion into Romania now includes two restaurants, and it is eager to share its signature offerings with the local public.
In addition to the restaurant opening, Wendy’s unveiled a special, limited-edition Romanian-themed logo. This new design features Wendy’s classic cameo, dressed in a traditional Romanian blouse, called an “ie.” The logo is surrounded by local cultural motifs, symbolizing Wendy’s respect for Romanian craftsmanship. The unique logo is also featured on the restaurant’s packaging, which was created entirely in Romania to reflect the brand’s dedication to the local culture.
To further connect with Romanian customers, franchise leaders John and Kathryn Chayka of JKC Capital released a video message welcoming patrons to Wendy’s. In the video, both John and Kathryn are seen wearing traditional Romanian blouses. The message, available through a QR code on the new packaging, adds a personal touch to the global fast-food brand’s introduction to Romania.
The launch event at Mega Mall Bucharest was filled with music, games, and social media activities, attracting hundreds of excited visitors. The atmosphere was lively, with the community coming together to celebrate the arrival of Wendy’s in Romania.
Staying true to its commitment to quality, Wendy’s in Romania proudly uses 100% fresh, locally sourced Romanian beef and whole breast chicken. The restaurant promises to continue offering fresh, made-to-order food in line with the brand’s global slogan, “Fresh, Famous Food…Made Right…For You.”
“We’re thrilled to be in Romania—not only for this opening but for what lies ahead,” said John Chayka, CEO of JKC Capital.
“The positive feedback from the community and the social media buzz show us that Wendy’s has been warmly received, and we’re excited to build a long-term presence here.”
