MICHIGAN CITY – The opening of the first Chick-fil-A in Michigan City has brought excitement to the area, and it hasn’t taken long for locals to embrace the new addition. Located off Franklin Street, the franchise is already attracting long lines of cars at its drive-thru, marking a new chapter for the city’s dining scene.
New owner/operator, TJ Barton, could hardly contain his enthusiasm as he greeted customers with a large cup of pineapple dragon fruit lemonade, a signature drink at the popular fast-food chain. Inside, the restaurant was decorated with cheerful cow plushies and black-and-white cow balloons, which added to the festive atmosphere of the grand opening event.
The Chick-fil-A on Franklin Street is the first of its kind to open within the city limits of Michigan City, and it has quickly become a local favorite. Within just one week of its debut, Michigan City resident Kayla Mendiola has already visited the location four times.
“I think it’s exactly what the city needed,” Mendiola shared. “Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food place. The produce is always fresh. I’d give it a ten out of ten.”
With the city’s hunger for a Chick-fil-A fulfilled, it’s clear that the fast-food chain’s arrival has been highly anticipated and embraced by the community.
