Burger King is making a bold return to central London with a brand-new flagship restaurant opening on April 14 on the Strand — and fans have a big reason to celebrate.
The global fast-food chain has announced the opening of its latest UK location in one of the city’s most iconic areas. To mark the occasion, Burger King will give away 1,000 free Whoppers — including the plant-based option — to customers on a first-come, first-served basis.
Central London Gets a Burger King Flagship Once Again
This marks Burger King UK’s first opening in the city centre in several years. The new restaurant is located at the former Topshop site, which has been transformed into a five-storey venue with space for more than 100 customers. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., it is expected to become a popular stop for both locals and tourists.
Strategically positioned near major landmarks and commuter routes, the Strand location is designed to serve a wide mix of visitors — from busy workers to sightseers exploring the city.
New Tech and Big Rewards at the Launch
The new restaurant isn’t just about burgers — it also features a modern design and innovative kitchen upgrades. A conveyor belt system has been installed to streamline food delivery from the kitchen to the counter, making operations faster and more efficient.
On launch day, guests can enjoy several exclusive promotions. Anyone who orders a Whopper or a plant-based Whopper using a self-service kiosk will receive their burger for free, but only while supplies last.
Adding to the excitement, the 100th customer to place an order on opening day will win a year’s supply of Burger King meals at the Strand branch — a reward sure to attract burger lovers from across the city.
Tote Bags and App Perks for the First 250 Guests
In addition to the free burgers, the first 250 guests at the new location will receive limited-edition Burger King UK tote bags.
Each bag will include a leaflet with special offers that can be accessed via the Burger King app. These perks provide early visitors with added value and encourage customers to engage with the brand digitally.
