Shake Shack is taking a bold step in the fast food market with the launch of a new limited-time milkshake. Starting Monday, April 7, the popular chain will debut the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake, a dessert inspired by the viral Dubai chocolate bar that captured global attention in 2024.
The new shake features frozen pistachio custard mixed with toasted kataifi, all wrapped in a hard chocolate shell. Topped with chopped pistachios and additional kataifi, the shake combines both smooth and crunchy textures. For those unfamiliar, kataifi is a Middle Eastern dessert made from spun dough, resembling bird’s nests. Unlike baklava, which uses thin layers of phyllo dough, kataifi’s dough is spun into fine strands. The hard chocolate shell mimics the crunch of the original chocolate bar that inspired this dessert.
Available at 30 Shake Shack locations across New York City, California, and Florida, the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake will start at $7.99. The shake was first introduced in Dubai in February and expanded throughout the Middle East before reaching U.S. locations.
The shake offers a delightful contrast of textures, from the smooth pistachio custard to the crunchy kataifi and pistachios, all encased in the rich chocolate shell. To fully enjoy the drink, customers are encouraged to squeeze the cup, breaking the chocolate shell and mixing the flavors together.
Shake Shack is known for its creative and ever-changing menu. Recent limited-time items include the Thai Iced Tea Shake, the Cherry Blossom Shake, and the Brownie Batter Hot Cocoa Shake. The brand has also featured seasonal drinks like the Chocolate Yule Log Shake and the Apple Cider Donut Shake.
The Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake fits into Shake Shack’s ongoing efforts to experiment with exciting, limited-time items. This follows previous successful launches like the Korean-inspired menu featuring Korean fried chicken and gochujang fries in 2021, as well as the company’s recent foray into combo meals in March 2025.
