KFC has introduced an exciting new range of drinks in Australia, sparking hopes of a long-awaited comeback for its beloved Krusher. The new Kwench range includes a variety of options such as milkshakes, iced coffees, fruity refreshers, and even boba.
While the menu offers several new choices, fans are particularly eager to know if this is a step closer to the return of the iconic Krushers, especially the Kookies N’ Kream flavour that was discontinued in 2019. The nostalgia is strong, and some see this new release as a potential hint of what’s to come.
Among the new offerings are Krunch shakes, made with a creamy base and crunchy bits—an unmistakable resemblance to the Krusher. These shakes come in three flavours: chocolate, caramel, and coconut mango. For those who need a caffeine fix, there are also iced lattes, iced mocha, and iced caramel Koffee Krunch variations available.
In an interview with Taste AU, a KFC spokesperson addressed the Krusher question directly, stating, “As for how it compares to Krushers? We’ll leave it to you to decide.” While this answer leaves fans in suspense, it does hint at a possible return of the much-loved drink.
Australian TikTok personality Tylah Hill has already shared his review of the new drinks, comparing them to Krushers while noting a thicker, more dairy-rich texture. “These are similar to Krushers, but are a lot more dairy and a lot thicker, which I love,” he said. His only suggestion was to mix the biscuit bits throughout the drink, similar to the old Krusher format.
For those with sensitive stomachs, KFC has added options like green tea refreshers and boba drinks to the menu. The Cherry and Watermelon Boba Refresher includes green tea and hibiscus pearls, while the Spicy Mango Lemonade combines hot honey for a bit of extra heat.
While the new drink range is currently only available in Australia, many are hoping it will soon make its way across the ditch to New Zealand. If KFC is listening, fans are eager for a wider release of these drinks in their home country.
