Carl’s Jr., the renowned American burger chain founded in 1941 in Southern California, is making its highly anticipated debut in the UK. The first location will open on April 3, 2025, at St. David’s Cardiff, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s global expansion.
The Cardiff restaurant is Carl’s Jr.’s first in the UK and will offer an authentic California experience to customers. With seating for 70, it will provide a vibrant space for locals and visitors to enjoy the brand’s signature Chargrilled Burgers, a menu that has made the chain a global favorite.
To celebrate the grand opening, Carl’s Jr. will give away 100 free burgers to the first customers who walk through the door.
It’s a great chance to try one of the iconic burgers that have become synonymous with the brand. Additionally, the new location will create 30 jobs, from restaurant staff to management roles, contributing to the local economy and offering exciting employment opportunities.
David Moffat, Country Manager for Carl’s Jr. UK, shared his excitement about the launch: “We are thrilled to bring Carl’s Jr. to Cardiff with our first UK location. The team at BRG has worked hard to bring this experience to the UK, and we can’t wait to welcome our first customers. We’ve had great excitement from fans eager to try our food, and we’re confident that our range of juicy 100% Angus Beef Burgers, Hand-Breaded Chicken Burgers, and Tenders, along with our irresistible Ice-Cream Shakes, will quickly become favorites.”
The Cardiff restaurant is just the beginning of Carl’s Jr.’s plans for the UK, with more locations expected in the near future.
This expansion is part of the brand’s broader European growth strategy, further solidifying its presence across the continent. Currently, CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Carl’s Jr., operates over 1,100 restaurants in 39 countries worldwide.
In the UK, Carl’s Jr. will offer its signature menu, combining quality and flavor to deliver the indulgent food the brand is known for. Fans of Carl’s Jr. can expect the same crave-worthy dishes that have made the brand a favorite around the globe.
