Romania’s Sphera Franchise Opens New KFC Restaurant in Galati

March 27 (SeeNews) – Sphera Franchise Group, the Romanian fast food chain, has opened a new KFC restaurant in the eastern city of Galati. The company invested approximately 1.2 million euros ($1.3 million) into the new establishment, which was announced on Thursday.

This new KFC restaurant, covering 350 square meters, is the second KFC location in Galati. It also marks the company’s first KFC unit to be equipped with solar panels. The solar panels, which are installed on the parking lot’s rooftop, have a combined capacity of 47.5 kW. Sphera estimates that the panels will provide about 50% of the restaurant’s energy needs.

The new restaurant features 44 indoor seats and 20 outdoor seats. It is staffed by 45 employees and operates with 24/7 drive-thru and take-away services.

Sphera Franchise Group now operates a total of 174 restaurants, including KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell, across Romania, Italy, and Moldova, employing approximately 5,000 people.

Shares of Sphera Franchise Group were trading down 0.24%, at 42 lei ($9.1/€8.44), on the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of 12:57 CET on Thursday.
