Chick-fil-A, the third-largest fast food chain in the United States, is expanding its presence in the UK with the opening of a second store in Northern Ireland. The new location will open on Thursday, March 27, at the Applegreen Templepatrick Services in Belfast.
This expansion comes after the success of the company’s first Northern Ireland store, which opened earlier this year at the Applegreen Lisburn South Services. Despite Chick-fil-A’s past controversies, including protests and boycotts related to donations to anti-LGBTQ+ organizations and CEO comments opposing same-sex marriage, the first Belfast location was welcomed by hundreds of local fans.
The new Belfast store is expected to attract a similar crowd when it opens at 10 a.m. next week, serving its signature chicken sandwiches and lemonade. This opening is part of Chick-fil-A’s broader strategy to grow its presence in the UK, with plans to open five additional locations across the country in the next two years. These new locations will include both licensed and locally owned and operated models.
