McDonald’s is once again exploring vegan options, this time in Canada with the introduction of the McVeggie sandwich.
The fast-food giant is testing this new menu item at select locations until April 14, offering Canadians a taste of what could be the future of fast food. However, this move raises questions about why the U.S. is not part of this initiative. If McDonald’s can successfully test a vegan patty in Canada, why hasn’t it been introduced in the States?
The Canadian McVeggie
The McVeggie features a breaded patty made from a blend of vegetables, including carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli, and corn. It is served on a toasted sesame bun with shredded lettuce and a mayo-style sauce. For those looking to add some heat, a spicy habanero version is also available, swapping the mayo for a creamy habanero spread.
