ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The countdown is on for Raising Cane’s as it prepares to open its new location at 6445 E. State Street in Rockford. The popular chicken chain, famous for its chicken fingers and signature Cane’s sauce, is set to open as early as April 15.
This Rockford location is one of two Raising Cane’s expected to open in Illinois this month. The company’s website lists Rockford as a key opening for April.
To mark the occasion, the new restaurant will offer a variety of giveaways, including Free Cane’s for a Year for 20 lucky customers. The restaurant will also host community events, supporting local schools, sports teams, and nonprofit organizations with fundraising opportunities and sponsorships.
Raising Cane’s has been expanding rapidly across Illinois, with existing locations in the Chicago suburbs and central parts of the state. The Rockford opening will be the first in the region, with the closest locations currently in Janesville and DeKalb.
In addition to serving its signature chicken fingers, the new restaurant will create dozens of new jobs for the city.
The site was previously home to Stone Eagle Tavern, a long-standing Rockford restaurant that closed its doors in early 2024.
