BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – A fast-growing fast food franchise, Smalls Sliders, supported by New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees, is preparing to open its doors on the Mississippi Coast.
On Thursday, Matt Gallagher and his son Zack were in Biloxi to oversee the installation of their latest Smalls Sliders shipping container. The unit, expected to open near Edgewater Mall upon completion, is a 750-square-foot modular space, painted in the brand’s signature “Smorange” color.
The restaurant will feature a drive-thru and walk-up service, offering a menu that includes cheeseburger sliders, seasoned waffle fries, and milkshakes.
Speaking with WLOX, the Gallaghers highlighted what makes Smalls Sliders stand out. “Our goal is to provide a great experience,” said Matt Gallagher. “We focus on quality food, consistency, and fast service.” His son Zack added, “We serve cheeseburger sliders, but ultimately, we want to send guests home with a smile and a good experience.”
Drew Brees is one of the investors behind Smalls Sliders, which currently has 24 locations across the U.S. The Gallaghers already own two locations in Flowood and Pensacola, Fla.
Matt Gallagher emphasized the importance of community involvement, noting that the Biloxi location will create around 60 new jobs. “We’re excited to be a part of this community and look forward to coming to Biloxi,” he said.
In addition to serving up delicious food, Smalls Sliders is also committed to giving back to the local community. As part of their efforts, the restaurant will recognize the local nonprofit “Embrace Abilities” as a Smalls Town Hero. The nonprofit, founded by Bridgett Lee, supports children and teens with special needs. “We hope this recognition helps spread the word about our free services for families in need,” Lee said. “In just 10 months, we’ve registered 102 families, which shows the need for this service.”
