New secret ball makes the magic happen in this limited-edition beverage.
As spring approaches, Starbucks is embracing the season with a fun and unique limited-edition Frappuccino in Japan. The Haruzora Milk Coffee Frappuccino, or “Spring Sky Milk Coffee Frappuccino,” offers a magical experience for customers that combines refreshing flavor with an exciting twist.
What makes this drink stand out is the introduction of a “strawberry ball” hidden inside the Frappuccino. This little surprise is the key to transforming the beverage from a smooth, milky coffee into a fruity, colorful concoction. When customers break open the strawberry ball with their straw, the drink changes in both color and taste, making for an interactive experience unlike any other. Starbucks is calling this the ultimate way to enjoy a Frappuccino—letting customers create their own transformation.
Here are the steps to enjoy the magic:
Begin by savoring the sweet, mellow flavor of the milk coffee on its own.
Use your straw to find the strawberry ball hidden inside, breaking it open to release a tangy strawberry sauce.
Stir it all together and watch as the Frappuccino slowly turns a pink hue and takes on the delightful flavor of strawberry milk coffee.
This color and flavor transformation is designed to mirror the excitement and fresh beginnings of spring in Japan, a season marked by new school years and career changes.
To celebrate this unique release, Starbucks is turning its Shibuya Parco branch into a “Spring Sky Ballpark” for 10 days, complete with fun activities and photo spots. The Frappuccino gives customers the chance to create two different drinks in one: break the ball early for a mellower strawberry milk coffee, or wait until later for a fruitier, more intense flavor.
Available only in a Tall size, and priced at 750 yen (US$5.07) for dine-in or 736 yen for takeout, the Haruzora Milk Coffee Frappuccino will be available at Starbucks locations nationwide from March 12 to April 8.
