Wendy’s has confirmed the exciting news that Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions will be arriving at its locations this spring.
According to a press release obtained by PEOPLE on March 6, these new offerings will allow customers to personalize their Frosty experience even further. With Frosty Swirls, customers can choose to swirl a tasty sauce into a Classic Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty. Meanwhile, Frosty Fusions will mix a customer’s selected sauce with additional ingredients for a unique, customized flavor.
The announcement came during Wendy’s Investor Day event, where the company also revealed plans to open 1,000 new restaurants by 2028. The brand is focusing on technological advancements and operational improvements to enhance the customer experience, alongside its ongoing expansion.
The arrival of Frosty Swirls and Fusions had been speculated online after a snack-focused Instagram blogger shared a post in February, hinting that Wendy’s was developing new ways to customize the Frosty. Although Wendy’s did not confirm these rumors at the time, the company has now officially announced the additions.
This new development follows Wendy’s recent collaboration with Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), where the chain introduced a limited-edition treat: the Thin Mints Frosty. This version of the Frosty features a minty-chocolate swirl and a cookie-like texture, offering a unique twist on the classic Frosty. While it’s unclear how long the Thin Mints Frosty will be available, a Wendy’s representative confirmed that the traditional chocolate and vanilla Frostys will remain on the menu during its run.
In addition to these new food items, Wendy’s is also rolling out technological upgrades. On February 13, during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call, CEO Kirk Tanner announced that nearly 6,000 U.S. restaurant locations will implement artificial intelligence (A.I.) at their drive-thru windows. This new feature will be added to FreshAI, Wendy’s existing ordering assistant, which was tested at about 100 locations in 2023. The goal is to expand FreshAI to 500-600 locations by the end of the year, with the collaboration between Wendy’s and Google Cloud driving this innovation.
These changes reflect Wendy’s ongoing efforts to evolve its menu offerings and enhance the customer experience in both food and technology.
