Wendy’s has marked a significant milestone with the opening of its 500th restaurant in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) region. The new store, located in Nagano, Japan, is also the brand’s 75th restaurant in the country.
The restaurant is owned and operated by franchisee Wendy’s Japan K.K. and features the brand’s innovative Global Next Gen design.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of our 75th Wendy’s First Kitchen restaurant, which also coincides with the 500th Wendy’s location in the APMEA region,” said Osamu Shiseki, CEO of Wendy’s Japan K.K.
This milestone comes shortly after Wendy’s celebrated the opening of its 160th restaurant in India. The company also recently launched the first of 200 planned restaurants in Australia, located on Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. In addition to its successes in these regions, Wendy’s continues to expand in Europe, with new restaurants planned in Romania, Scotland, and Ireland, all set to open later this year.
