In a fast-paced world of fast food, menu updates are now commonplace, with chains rolling out new items at an ever-increasing rate. Just this month, Burger King has unveiled multiple new offerings, including Pickle Fries and three new variations of its iconic Whopper. This shift in pace contrasts with the past when new menu items were introduced only a few times each year.
Among Burger King’s recent launches, last week’s Pickle Fries—deep-fried, battered pickle slices served with ranch dipping sauce—have garnered attention. The previous week, the chain rolled out not one, but three new Whoppers: Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and Mexican Street Corn Whopper.
However, 25 years ago, the introduction of a new item was a much rarer event. In 1998, Burger King added Cini Minis, small cinnamon rolls, to its menu. The beloved treat remained a favorite until its removal 12 years ago, with a brief return in 2018 as a GrubHub-exclusive. Fans never forgot them, and some even launched a Change.org petition urging Burger King to bring the snack back. Now, those 6,000+ petition signers have some exciting news.
Burger King has officially revived Cini Minis—but for now, they are available in just two Florida cities. The 4-pack of miniature cinnamon buns, priced at $2.49, is being sold exclusively at Burger King locations in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
The sweet buns come with a side of thick vanilla icing for dipping, just as fans remember.
While this re-release is currently limited to these Florida locations, it’s not uncommon for fast food chains to test old favorites in select markets before making a nationwide comeback. If these Cini Minis prove successful, there’s hope they could return to Burger King menus across the country.
It looks like the petition worked—or at least, it might soon. Keep an eye on Florida, as the success of the Cini Minis in these cities could pave the way for their nationwide revival.
