Starbucks has reopened its Reserve store at The Avenues, marking the completion of a major refurbishment. The new design celebrates Kuwaiti traditions while maintaining the global Starbucks experience.
Alshaya Group and Starbucks Coffee Company hosted a grand reopening event for the updated store located at the Grand Avenue in The Avenues mall. Mohammed Alshaya, executive chairman of Alshaya Group, emphasized the importance of blending local culture with the Starbucks experience: “The reopening of this Reserve store highlights our pride in offering a global Starbucks experience with true local appeal.”
This store holds special significance as it was the first Reserve store in Kuwait. When it opened in 2012, it was also among the largest Starbucks locations globally.
Spanning 5,000 sq. ft. over two stories, the newly refurbished space has been designed to reflect Kuwait’s rich heritage. The interior incorporates fine woodwork, mystical murals, and other cultural elements. With seating for more than 160 customers, the store includes a flagship terrace that offers stunning views of Grand Avenue.
The Reserve bar at the store showcases rare, small-batch coffees roasted at Starbucks’ Milan Roastery. Here, baristas use unique brewing techniques like the Clover Brewing System, pour-over, siphon, and Chemex, offering customers a chance to engage in meaningful conversations about the craft of coffee.
