Starbucks Plans New Location on Broadway in Boise

A former Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Boise could soon be transformed into a Starbucks coffee shop.

The GDP Group of Phoenix has submitted plans to the City of Boise to convert the 2,571-square-foot space at 226 S.

The property, owned by S-Sixteen Limited Partnership (a Boise-based firm linked to the Simplot family), is shared by several businesses, including Deli George, Chick-fil-A, and the Courtyard by Marriott hotel.

The new Starbucks would feature seating for 40 customers and maintain the current parking lot layout.

While Starbucks already operates a location about 0.7 miles away at Broadway and Belmont Street, the company has not confirmed whether this will be a new store or a relocation of an existing one. Starbucks representatives did not respond to inquiries about the plans.

The move comes as Carl’s Jr. has closed two Boise locations, including the Broadway restaurant and another in Garden City.

Starbucks, the dominant coffee brand in the Boise area, has been expanding its footprint. The company is planning a new location near the Boise Airport, along with an airport kiosk. It is also constructing a drive-thru-only location in Garden City and recently opened a new store on Ten Mile Road.
