Whataburger is set to open its first North Carolina restaurant in Gastonia, with construction already underway. The new location will be situated along East Franklin Boulevard, where Backyard Burgers previously operated. The fast-food chain plans to open the Gastonia restaurant in late spring, according to the Gaston Gazette.
In addition to the Gastonia opening, Whataburger is planning three more locations in the Charlotte area. These restaurants will open this summer on Albemarle Road, as well as in Hickory and Indian Land, South Carolina.
