A new Wendy’s restaurant is set to open in Weston this week, marking the return of the fast food chain to the Wausau area.
Located at 5401 Business 51, next to Walgreens, the restaurant will feature Wendy’s Global Next Gen design, offering modern upgrades to meet customer needs.
The restaurant will officially open its doors on Tuesday, according to a post on Wendy’s Facebook page. Customers can enjoy popular menu items such as the Baconator, spicy chicken sandwiches, hot fries, and the iconic Frosty for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
This new location includes several digital upgrades, including kiosks for self-ordering, dedicated points for mobile and delivery pick-up, and an enhanced drive-thru experience, designed to cater to the increasing demand for digital ordering, according to a Bridgeman Foods spokesperson, the franchisee operating the Weston restaurant.
The opening marks the return of Wendy’s to Weston after the previous restaurant at 2805 Schofield Ave. operated from October 1997 until its closure in September 2022. Another Wendy’s at 4400 Rib Mountain Drive was destroyed by a fire in October 2013. The only other Wendy’s in central Wisconsin is located in Plover, which opened in November 2023.
In other local restaurant news, central Wisconsin is eagerly awaiting the opening of its first Chick-fil-A in Rib Mountain this fall.
