To mark its 75th anniversary, Whataburger is reintroducing two beloved menu items, much to the delight of its loyal fans in Texas and beyond.
Since serving its first hamburger in Corpus Christi in 1950, Whataburger has become a staple of Texas culture. Over the decades, the iconic burger has earned its place alongside H-E-B and Buc-ee’s as part of the Texas Holy Trinity.
Long-Awaited Returns
Whataburger has expanded across the United States in recent years, with notable efforts from Whitehouse native Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, a longtime fan of the chain, played a key role in bringing Whataburger to Kansas City after making it a part of his NFL career.
75th Anniversary Celebrations
In celebration of its milestone anniversary, Whataburger is bringing back two fan-favorite items that have been sorely missed. First on the list is the Monterey Melt, which had been absent from the menu for several years but has now returned due to popular demand.
The Monterey Melt is a fan favorite for good reason. Featuring two juicy beef patties, melted American and Monterey Jack cheeses, grilled onions and peppers, and a flavorful Jalapeno Ranch sauce, this mouthwatering combination is a hit with Whataburger fans everywhere.
