A popular U.S. fast food chain, Slim Chickens, is set to open its first Scottish branches in two major cities as part of its ongoing expansion across the UK.
Known for its variety of fried chicken meals, Slim Chickens has earned praise from fans, with many claiming it’s “better than KFC.” The franchise, which started in the southern U.S. in 2003, made its UK debut in 2020 and now boasts 58 locations across cities like Wolverhampton, Leeds, Bournemouth, and Belfast.
As part of its rapid growth, the brand plans to open 16 more restaurants in the next year, with two set to land in Scotland—one in Glasgow and the other in Edinburgh. These will mark the chain’s first Scottish outlets.
In addition to the Scottish openings, new branches are planned for locations across the UK, including Leicester Square, Wembley Park, Edgware Road, Swansea, West Midlands, Reading, and Newcastle. This ambitious expansion will see the company open two locations per month on average.
While opening dates for most new sites, including the Scottish branches, have not been confirmed, the first two locations in London are scheduled to open later this month in Leicester Square and Wembley.
To celebrate these new openings, Slim Chickens will launch a special promotion, offering 10,000 “Golden Tickets.” Winners of these tickets will receive free chicken for a year.
Slim Chickens’ menu offers a variety of fried chicken dishes, including tenders, sandwiches, wings, and wraps, as well as fries. Customers can also enjoy a wide selection of dipping sauces, with 14 options available, including blue cheese, buffalo, honey mustard, Korean BBQ, and the signature Slim Sauce.
