McDonald’s is set to bring back its popular Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock Shake, with a nationwide rollout beginning on February 10, 2025. These minty treats are a seasonal favorite, eagerly awaited by fans each year as spring approaches.
Some locations have already started serving the shakes earlier than expected.
Continuing its trend of nostalgia, McDonald’s has also reintroduced other fan-favorite items. Last year, the chain brought back the McRib, a BBQ-style sandwich that has gained a loyal following since its return in 2006. The McRib was available for a limited time starting December 3, 2024.
In a charitable twist for 2025, McDonald’s will donate 25 cents from each Shamrock Shake sold at participating locations to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) starting February 10. This initiative helps families stay close to their hospitalized children. This year’s Shamrock Season also marks the return of Uncle O’Grimacey, Grimace’s long-lost uncle, who first appeared in McDonald’s ads in 1975. Dressed in green and carrying a cane, Uncle O’Grimacey promotes the Shamrock Shake alongside his nephew.
The return of the Shamrock Shake coincides with the legacy of RMHC, which was established over 50 years ago with funds raised from Shamrock Shake sales. As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, fans have much to celebrate.
Additionally, McDonald’s has announced that the Snack Wrap will return sometime in 2025. Originally launched in 2006, this item became popular for those seeking a lighter meal option. It features crispy or grilled chicken wrapped with lettuce, cheese, and sauce in a soft tortilla.
In another exciting development, McDonald’s is offering exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game packs with every Happy Meal until February 24. Each Happy Meal includes a pack of four Pokémon cards featuring various Dragon-type creatures like Dragapult and Rayquaza.
