GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Burger King has shuttered several of its Grand Rapids locations, further reducing options for customers who once relied on the fast-food giant’s “Have it Your Way” promise.
The closure of the Burger King at 2204 Plainfield Ave. NE is part of a larger trend of disappearing locations in Kent County.
The restaurant, now stripped of its signage, displays a notice on the door directing patrons to two remaining spots: 2672 Alpine Ave. NW and 410 Pearl St. NW. Employees at both open locations confirmed their status but declined to comment on the recent closures, with one staff member stating that they were instructed not to speak with the media.
Factorial Restaurant Holdings, the local franchisee overseeing 26 Burger King establishments in the Grand Rapids area, did not respond to a request for comment. Likewise, the Burger King Corporation remained silent on the recent closures.

EYM King of Michigan LLC, the franchisee of these 26 locations, cited “unforeseen business circumstances” as the reason for the closures, stating that a resolution with Burger King Corporation could not be reached.
