FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP (Somerset) — Rutgers Plaza, a bustling shopping center in Somerset County, has just welcomed a new 24-hour McDonald’s, offering a modern and convenient fast-food option to local shoppers.
The new restaurant, a 4,500-square-foot facility with dual drive-thrus, is now open every day, around the clock. It features updated dining areas that can accommodate up to 62 guests. Customers can take advantage of self-order kiosks with interactive touchscreens, as well as a dedicated mobile pickup area for added convenience.
For electric vehicle owners, the location includes an EV charging station for those choosing to dine in.
Sidney Singer, Vice President of Leasing at Levin Management Corporation (LMC), which manages Rutgers Plaza, highlighted the importance of quick-serve restaurants in driving foot traffic. “Fast-casual and quick-service dining options are key to enhancing the shopping experience, encouraging visitors to spend more time at the center,” Singer said.
The plaza, located along Easton Avenue, serves a growing residential area of 277,500 people within a five-mile radius. In addition to McDonald’s, other tenants include Crunch Fitness, Dollar Tree, Venus Jewelers, Chase Bank, and Flame Kabob House.
LMC also announced that Venus Jewelers has expanded into a newly renovated 5,700-square-foot showroom at Rutgers Plaza, nearly doubling its previous space.
With 1.7 million visitors annually, according to traffic data from Placer.ai, Rutgers Plaza continues to be a central hub for the local community.
