Pizza Hut Japan is rolling out an exciting new menu item that might soon rival their popular cinnamon breadsticks: the KitKat Handy Melt. This innovative dessert, launched in January 2025, is designed as the ultimate snack for students, combining melty cheese with a whole KitKat bar inside a handheld pizza.
Pizza Hut has tailored the KitKat Handy Melt for exam season, calling it the perfect treat for students hitting the books. The company shared on Instagram, “Pizza Hut cheese and KitKat chocolate — when something delicious sticks together and melts, it creates a truly melt-in-your-mouth experience.”
The post further emphasizes the break it offers to hard-working students: “We hope this gives you a pleasant respite as you work toward your goals. Eating this might just help solve any problem!”
Available for a limited time, the KitKat Handy Melt is priced at 430 yen (approximately $2.72). This marks the first-ever collaboration between Pizza Hut and KitKat, blending savory and sweet in a unique way.
This new item adds to Pizza Hut Japan’s tradition of offering exclusive, limited-time menu options. Last year, the company introduced the Hut Melts, a savory version of the Handy Melt. Though originally launched in the U.S. in 2022, the Japanese menu now includes a variety of flavors, including pepperoni, buffalo chicken, and meat lovers.
In addition to the Handy Melt, Pizza Hut Japan continues to keep their offerings fresh and exciting, with other recent releases like the Grilled Cheese Ramen in March 2024 and the Magical Circle Cheese Pizza in June.
