Wendy’s has officially launched its first restaurant in Australia, marking a significant return for the American fast-food chain. The new location is situated on Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast and is the first of many planned outlets across the country.
The store opens its doors on January 15, 2025, and promises a menu filled with popular items. Wendy’s aims to introduce a “challenger mindset” to the Australian market, with plans to establish around 200 locations nationwide by 2034. This expansion is being spearheaded by Flynn Restaurant Group, which secured the master franchise rights in August 2023.
Wendy’s is known for its square-shaped beef patties and signature Frosty desserts. The Gold Coast outlet will also feature exclusive menu items tailored for Australian tastes, including hand-breaded chicken tenders served with a creamy ranch dressing. These tenders can be enjoyed alone or as part of a burger or wrap.
In addition to these new offerings, customers can look forward to classic favorites such as the Classic Double burger and
The Baconator, which boasts six strips of bacon. Wendy’s will also serve Loaded Chilli Cheese Fries and its iconic Frosty in chocolate and vanilla flavors, perfect for dipping with fries.
The opening of this flagship store represents the beginning of Wendy’s ambitious growth strategy in Australia. E.J. Wunsch, President of International at Wendy’s Company, highlighted the partnership with Flynn Group as vital for creating a unique dining experience that caters to local preferences.
As Wendy’s prepares to make its mark in Australia, fans can expect a fresh take on fast food that combines beloved international flavors with innovative menu items designed specifically for Australian customers.
