An American fast food chain is seeking approval to extend its operating hours until midnight in the town center of Reading.
Wendy’s, the renowned American chain, made its grand entrance into Reading during the summer of 2021, garnering considerable attention and excitement.
Since its debut, Wendy’s has been serving customers from 7 am to 10 pm from Monday to Thursday, extending its hours until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and operating from 8 am to 10 pm on Sundays.
However, the management behind Wendy’s is now aiming to keep its doors open until midnight every night, signaling a departure from its initial proposal to remain open until 2 am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
Last year, Wendy’s had submitted plans to extend its hours from 6:30 am to 2 am on those specific days. However, it appears that these plans have been put on hold for the time being.
To proceed with its desired operating hours extension, Wendy’s must obtain a license from the Reading Borough Council, allowing it to serve food and drinks beyond the current 11 pm cutoff.
