Starbucks has launched its winter menu, introducing new and returning seasonal favorites, including the addition of a Spanish classic, the cortado, to its espresso offerings.
The cortado, named after the Spanish word cortar meaning “to cut,” is a smooth blend of three ristretto shots of Blonde Espresso “cut” with steamed milk, softening the bold flavor of the espresso. Served only hot in a short 8-ounce size, it joins other espresso drinks such as the Latte, Americano, and Macchiato. For those seeking a sweeter, nondairy option, Starbucks also offers the new Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado.
Other highlights of the winter menu include:
Pistachio Latte: A returning favorite, this drink features Starbucks Espresso and steamed milk flavored with pistachio and topped with a brown-buttery finish. It’s available hot, iced, or as a blended Frappuccino for a limited time.
Pistachio Cream Cold Brew: Another limited-time return, this cold brew is sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with pistachio cream cold foam and salted brown butter sprinkles.
Spicy Falafel Pocket: A new permanent menu item, this vegan-friendly pocket combines smashed falafel, hummus, roasted red bell peppers, pickled onions, and a spicy herb sauce, all wrapped in toasted lavash.
Vanilla Bean Custard Danish: A returning limited-time treat, this pastry features layers of sugared dough filled with vanilla bean custard.
Valentine Cake Pop: A festive dessert made from vanilla cake and buttercream, dipped in red chocolate icing and decorated with a heart design.
Additionally, Starbucks has responded to customer feedback by adjusting its matcha powder, now sweetened with classic syrup, giving customers more control over the sweetness of their matcha drinks.
