Don’t Miss These Upcoming Menu Surprises from McDonald’s and Subway

by Nick

As we step into 2025, fast food enthusiasts can expect some exciting new offerings from two of the most popular chains—McDonald’s and Subway. These brands are gearing up to roll out innovative items that could soon become fan favorites, and maybe even set trends for the industry. Whether you’re craving something sweet or savory, there’s something new for everyone. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming soon.

McDonald’s: The Big Arch

McDonald’s is ringing in the new year with a bold new creation—the Big Arch. This burger is being tested in select markets, including Canada and Portugal, and could soon rival McDonald’s iconic Big Mac. While it’s not yet available in the U.S., it’s expected that the Big Arch could make its way stateside if it proves popular.

The Big Arch features two beef patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickles, and a tangy special sauce. The burger is topped off with crispy onions, all stacked between a brioche bun. Fans are already comparing it to the Big Mac, but with a larger, more filling design.

The burger’s name, inspired by McDonald’s famous Golden Arches, hints at its potential to become a signature item for the brand. According to food blogger @Snackolator, McDonald’s plans to gauge its reception in Canada and Portugal before deciding on a broader release. If the burger does well, it might soon appear in the U.S. and beyond.

Subway: New Footlongs and Snacks

Subway is also rolling out exciting new menu items in 2025, including a variety of footlong sandwiches and snacks. One of the most talked-about additions is the Footlong Nachos, which will be joining the chain’s popular selection of footlong options.

Since January 2024, Subway has been offering a “Sidekick” menu, featuring snacks like Cinnabon Churros, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, and Chocolate Chip Cookies. In 2025, Subway will take it up a notch by adding new items like the Oreo Footlong.

This dessert sandwich features a chocolate cookie shaped like a footlong, filled with cream and topped with crushed Oreo cookies.

But that’s not all. Subway is also introducing the Doritos Footlong Nachos. This sandwich will include Nacho Cheese Doritos as the base, topped with melted cheese, jalapeños, tomatoes, black olives, and more. Currently being tested at select locations, the Doritos Footlong Nachos is expected to officially launch sometime in the spring.

These new offerings come on the heels of other recent additions, such as the Spicy Nacho Chicken and optional upgrades like Ghost Pepper Bread and Cheddar Cheese Sauce. Subway’s commitment to innovation is clear as they continue to expand their menu with bold new choices.
