Wendy’s Jamaica has committed over $300 million to its new restaurant at Whitter Village in Montego Bay. This marks the brand’s second venture into the popular resort town.
The new location is part of Wendy’s broader strategy to expand its presence outside the Kingston and St Andrew area, aiming to play a bigger role in Jamaica’s economic growth.
The Whitter Village branch is already benefiting the local community. Of the 28 available positions, 16 have been filled, providing important job opportunities for residents of Montego Bay.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Michelle Myers Mayne, Director of GARA Restaurants Limited, emphasized Wendy’s ongoing dedication to Jamaica. “At Wendy’s, our mission is not only to grow our business but also to strengthen our connection with the Jamaican people,” said Myers Mayne.
She added, “We are excited to invest in Montego Bay once again and create opportunities for local residents and those in nearby areas. Wendy’s is a family brand, and we are thrilled to welcome Montego Bay into our family. The community’s support has been overwhelming, and we look forward to continuing to build these relationships.”
In addition to its business operations, Wendy’s is focused on making a positive impact through initiatives in education, youth empowerment, and local partnerships. “The Whitter Village location symbolizes Wendy’s commitment to providing quality food, fostering strong relationships, and supporting the communities we serve,” Myers Mayne concluded.
