KFC has introduced a bold new dining concept, “Saucy,” in Orlando, Florida, on Monday, December 23. While the brand is known for its fried chicken, this location shifts its focus to chicken tenders paired with a variety of sauces.
The restaurant offers 11 different sauces, giving customers the option to try them individually or in a flight of four. The selection includes flavors like smokey bacon ranch, spicy mango chutney, sweet teriyaki, creole honey mustard, and the signature Saucy’s sauce. This variety is a nod to KFC’s famous 11 herbs and spices from its Original Recipe. With over 4,000 possible combinations, there’s a flavor for everyone.
In addition to tenders and sauces, the menu features sandwiches such as the spicy queso crunch, desserts like chocolate mousse cake, and refreshing drinks like a blue raspberry freeze.
The design of the “Saucy” restaurant reflects KFC’s aim to appeal to younger, tech-savvy generations. Customers can place orders through self-service kiosks, and the restaurant offers live entertainment for a more engaging experience.
Orlando was chosen as the launch location due to its diverse demographic, and KFC officials have confirmed plans to expand the “Saucy” concept to other cities.
The move aligns with a growing trend in the fast food industry, where legacy brands are experimenting with new formats.
McDonald’s has rolled out its “CosMc’s” locations, focusing on beverages but also offering items like a spicy queso sandwich. Taco Bell is pursuing speed and efficiency with its “Defy” concept, while Burger King has opened similar fast-food innovations with “Sizzle” locations.
With the fast food industry reaching nearly $400 billion in revenue in 2023, brands are continuously exploring innovative ways to capture customer attention, whether through new restaurant formats, faster service, or creative menu options like sauces.
