Pizza Hut has officially opened its new restaurant at Waterfront Retail Park in Greenock, marking a significant milestone for the fast-food giant in Inverclyde. The opening, which took place on Monday, December 9, brings 20 new jobs to the area, including a store manager, three shift managers, three team members, and a team of drivers.
Located on the site of the former Papa John’s outlet, the Greenock store is the first Pizza Hut delivery service in the town.
While the primary focus will be delivery, the restaurant also offers a small dine-in area and a collection facility for customers.
The new restaurant is part of the Glenshire Group’s growing portfolio, a Scottish family-owned business based in Fife.
Director Zibby Ghafoor expressed excitement about the long-awaited launch, saying, “We’ve been in talks for years about bringing Pizza Hut to Greenock. This is our first delivery site in the area, and after searching for the right location, we’re thrilled to have found this perfect spot.”
Ghafoor highlighted the importance of this opening as part of the company’s wider expansion plan across Scotland and England. The store underwent a quick three-week refit to prepare for the launch, which has already generated significant local interest. “We’ve had a lot of people asking when we would open, and with December being a busy month for us, we’re excited to start serving the community,” he added.
Area Manager Ross Gavin also expressed enthusiasm for the opening, saying, “We’re thrilled to be launching this new Pizza Hut in such a fantastic location in Greenock. Our team is committed to providing quality, variety, and exceptional service.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone in to enjoy their favourite pizzas, sides, and desserts.”
This new opening marks another step in Pizza Hut’s efforts to expand its presence across Scotland, with the company grateful for the support of the Greenock community.
