Chick-fil-A is set to open a new restaurant without a dining room in East Arlington on November 26. This location, situated at 11909 Atlantic Blvd. in the Atlantic North shopping center, marks owner Melinda Sowers’ second Chick-fil-A in the Jacksonville area.
The new restaurant will offer various services, including drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, and catering. A dedicated “Mobile Thru” lane will be available for customers who place orders through the Chick-fil-A app, enhancing convenience for mobile users.
Operating hours will be from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM Monday through Thursday, and from 6:30 AM to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant will remain closed on Sundays. According to a news release dated November 20, Sowers also owns another Chick-fil-A at 13375 Atlantic Blvd., located at Atlantic and Hodges boulevards.
Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are individually owned and operated, meaning local owner-operators like Sowers are actively involved in their businesses. This new restaurant will employ approximately 120 full- and part-time staff members. Sowers’ youngest son, Carson, will join the team as a member, while her oldest son, Jacob, will take on a leadership role.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue leading a team of passionate, dedicated individuals who make every day at Chick-fil-A special,” Sowers stated. “Our success isn’t just about serving delicious food — it’s about building relationships within our team and with the community we serve.”
To celebrate the opening, Chick-fil-A’s corporate offices will donate $25,000 to Feeding America, with the funds allocated to local community efforts. Additionally, Sowers is participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redistributes surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits.
Since its inception, the Shared Table program has provided over 30 million meals through donations from more than 2,200 Chick-fil-A locations across the U.S. and Canada.
