Taco Bell is set to delight fans by bringing back a popular test menu item: Crispy Chicken Nuggets. The Mexican-inspired fast-food chain plans to make these nuggets available at locations across the country, following a successful trial in Houston earlier this year.
The Crispy Chicken Nuggets, which are made from all-white meat chicken, will be added to Taco Bell’s menu in December.
This announcement comes as the company prepares to phase out its “Through the Decades” menu. According to food blogger Markie_devo, who shared details from an employee leak, the nuggets are expected to be available around December 19.
Fans have expressed their excitement about the return of the nuggets. One fan tweeted, “I’ve been craving them for MONTHS,” while another said, “Yaassss I was just talking about how I missed them.” Others are curious about how Taco Bell’s nuggets will compare to those from other fast-food chains.
The nuggets will be marinated in spiced jalapeño buttermilk and breaded in a tortilla coating before being fried. When they were first tested, many fans compared them to the chain’s former Naked Chicken Chips, which were triangular chicken pieces served with nacho cheese sauce.
In addition to the nuggets, Taco Bell will offer two dipping sauces: the signature Bell sauce and a new Jalapeño Honey Mustard sauce, which combines sweet honey mustard with a hint of jalapeño.
This rollout follows other recent test items that have gained popularity, such as Baja Blast gelato and the Cheez-It Tostada.
Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets are anticipated to be available at participating locations starting December 19. A representative from Taco Bell has not yet commented on this announcement.
